Save the Land Dance
On August 23, 2014, Aspen Valley Land Trust hosted the eleventh annual Save the Land Dance fundraising event.
After 11 successful years, this event has garnered a fantastic reputation as a fun-filled night, attended by ranchers, long time locals, newcomers, and all the people you really want to hang out with. The event was moved this year to the beautiful sweeping views of Mount Sopris from John Nieslanik’s ranch, where we honored and celebrated the families within the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys who have forever protected their properties. Bridget Strang demonstrated exciting sheep herding action as a preview of the 2014 National Sheepdog Finals. A delicious buffet dinner from Hickory House was enjoyed as guests danced the night away to the sounds of Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams. A silent and live auction supporting AVLT’s local conservation work was held. A huge thank you to all the attendees and volunteers who made this year another success!
